Servant Leader – Episode Nineteen Dr. Reuel Khoza Full Interview
"On the 20th of February 2015, Acorn to Oaks High School officially opened its doors to learners in Acornhoek Township in Mpumalanga. This R45 million initiative spearheaded by Reuel, was a way of giving back to the community that bore him. However, at the inception stage, he was not aware that it would take him seven years just to get approval. This delay was primarily because of his consistent refusals to grease palms and pay bribes to embark on the project that would be of no financial benefit to him, but rather serve his home community. He was unrelenting, and the project eventually saw the light of day, to great acclaim. Being a leader in a sometimes morally and ethically defunct environment has only increased Reuel’s resolve to shake the system and leave it better than he found it. His radical approach has seen him thriving in spaces where many would have caved in. He is a successful business leader, a music impresario, a farmer, and an avocado exporter."
