Address by Dr Reuel J. Khoza (Chairman of Nedbank Group Limited, Aka Capital and author of several books including Let Africa Lead and Attuned Leadership) to “Nedbank Group Technology Leaders” I 1 November 2016
Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng
If you Confucius would say: “The way of a superior man is threefold: Virtuous, he is free from anxieties, wise, he is free from perplexities; bold, he is free from fear.”
“There are three marks of a superior man: being virtuous, he is free from anxiety; being wise, he is free from perplexity; being brave, he is free from fear.” Confucious 368
Of Mervyn King may I say:
We pay homage to you for being a South African international flag bearer of Corporate Governance. For firmly locating South Africa on centre stage apropos the Corporate Governance. For setting the Corporate Governance Platinum Standard, an ideal worthy of global emulation.
Where the British waver, you are sure footed, having deservedly earned the respect and adulation of Sir David Cadbury. While Americans rigidly legislate, you fluently persuade.
The EU, OECD and Australia which painfully wallops us in sports, refer and defer to you without reservation.
